Club Theme: Talk about cars, socialize and have fun.
Club news: Meetings continue at the Chamber of Commerce in Bartlett Parking lot on the second & fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM. The next meeting is March 27th.
RODRIDERS NEWS
The club did a show and shine this Wednesday 3/14/12 at “Get the burger” because the weather was nice, six cars showed up between 4 and 6PM. It was fun to see everyone and visit and talk about cars again.
The club is still collecting dues and only a few members are still outstanding, dues are $30.
The Yucaipa car show is coming right up April 6th and the club will be forming up at 3PM at Geoff’s house and will leave around 3:30PM. Show is from 6 to 9PM but we need to get there early in order to get some good parking spots. Final discussions on whose going ec.t will be at the next meeting.
We are now starting to discuss our car show for this year with some preliminary plans have been made. We will be getting t-shirts that are a bright color with our logo and STAFF on them. Some of the volunteers are as follows: Geoff- Leader- Coordinates, flyers and sponsors.
Joe and Nancy- Registration
Bill- Security and traffic
Art- Parking
Larry- Media and Announcer
Kenny- Pop-ups, tables, dash plaques
Eloise- Raffle Coordinator (collection point and run show)
Remember we still need more volunteers to help the people list above and each members should donate a raffle prize as we did last year also Pat is going to try to get a bear again this year and it was discussed that we will go to Harbor Freight to buy some auto stuff for the raffle, plus we usually get some items from the sponsors.
We were all sorry to hear that Ron King was in the Hospital and hope that he is doing well; all our blessings are with him.
We had a 50/50 drawing that collected $28 and Geoff won and took home $14.

YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE…
THE TRIP TO THE PETERSON WAS GREAT..BUT MORE PARTICIPATION WOULD HAVE MADE THE VISIT EVEN BETTER..!!
TWO CARS LEFT BIG BEAR AT 8:00 am AND WENT DOWN THE HILL ON HWY 18 TO THE SAN BERNARDINO TRAIN STATION..
IT WAS SO EASY TO GET THE TICKETS..AND WE BOARDED..WENT TO THE UPPER DECK AND ENJOYED THE SCENERY AS WE SPED TOWARD
UNION STATION IN DOWNTOWN LA..
A BITE TO EAT.. AT A SANDWICH SHOP NEAR THE STATION AND WE GOT ON THE SUBWAY HEADED WEST TO WILSHIRE AND WESTERN..
SEVERAL SHORT STOPS LATER.. WE WENT UP TOP TO AN AWAITING BUS TO FINISH THE FINAL LEG OF OUR TRIP AND THE “PETERSON”..
THE MUSEUM IS A FANTASTIC PLACE FOR THE AUTOMOBILE ENTHUSIAST..
WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH A “DOCENT” WHO WOULD SHOW US AROUND AND EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENT DISPLAY’S.. BUT WE HAD AN HOUR OR MORE BEFORE HE WOULD BE AVAILABLE..SO WE STRUCK OUT ON OUR OWN..
LOT’S TO SEE IN THE TWO STORIES OF THE MUSIUM..OLD TIME BUGGIES” TO “BATMOBILES”..
“DRAGSTERS” TO “LIMOUSINES”.. THEY HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY..
FOOD WAS AGAIN ON OUR MINDS.. SO WE ATE AT “JOHNNY ROCKETS” IN THE MUSIUM..BEST ONION RINGS THAT I’VE EVER TASTED..OUR DOCENT WAS ON TIME AND HE EXPLAINED THE MANY FACETS OF EACH DISPLAY THAT THE MUSIUM HAD TO OFFER..WE BOARDED THE BUS FOR THE RETURN TRIP TO THE SUBWAY STATION IN LATE AFTERNOON..WE ARRIVED AT THE SAN BERNARDINO TRAIN STATION IN EARLY EVENING..AND BACK TO BIG BEAR..
AGAIN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER OUTING IF WE HAD MORE PEOPLE PARTICIPATE.. BUT SOMETIMES WORK KEEPS US FROM DOING STUFF.. I DON’T THINK YOU WILL EVER HEAR A DYING MAN SAY: “I WISH I HAD TAKEN MORE TIME TO WORK HARDER”.. GEOFF

RODRIDERS NEWS
The Get the Burger show and shine will continue on every Wednesday night this year as soon as the weather warms up.
Club dues were collected at the 1/25/12 meeting of $30, six members paid but several are still outstanding. Please turn in your dues as soon as you can.
Nancy has finalized the info on the Peterson Museum and the club is going Thursday February 23rd. We will all meet at Larry’s house at 8am on the 23rd, Larry and Joe are driving which will transport 9 people, 7 are going at this time. Those that haven’t signed up from the meeting call Nancy at 909-585-4354. Try to be on time.
We are now starting to discuss our car show for this year with some preliminary plans being made.
Kenny announced that the Rat Rod & Hot rods car show at Northwood’s resort would be either the 1st or second week of June.

This is just reminder that we have a meeting this week, tuesday 2/14/12 which is tommorrow. I will be bringing a chocolate suprise for everyone to consume for Valentines day, it will really be yummy. Dave you don’t have to bring any cookies. Everyone think tonight about the Perterson Museum on the 23rd of February, we are all signed up for the tour ect.
